Business Profile

tant pour tant is a locally owned and operated company that focuses heavily on promoting and offering its customers the opportunity to purchase local product, utilising Tasmanian produce where possible, particularly from the Northern region of our State.

Reflecting the national trend of providing consumers with quality products, French style, with a focus on contemporary lines to suit today’s market. The intricate details of the business have been carefully examined by focusing on a broad spectrum of similar businesses that operate along similar lines within Tasmania, interstate and internationally.

The explosion of the “coffee and café culture” demonstrates the need for new and contemporary food options for Launceston’s consumer market, along with the increase of tourist numbers within the north of the state.

Local residents and Tasmanian’s in general have now developed regular exposure to many new and different dining experiences and food choices and as a result are making informed choices when it comes to the quality of a product they are purchasing and consuming.

The focus of tant pour tant is to offer a unique product and different concept to the Launceston and wider markets, which has not previously been offered.

tant pour tant's Journey

On April 1st 2006 Paul and Jo Herbig opened the doors of tant pour tant's first premises, a Patisserie located at 226 Charles Street, Launceston in Tasmania....."and that's no joke!"

Five years later with many awards and an incredible amount of sleepless nights and wonderful memories, Paul and Jo have expanded the business.

"The time is right and we currently have one of the best teams of staff in the history of the business".  "Having the right people to move forward with us, those who are passionate, loyal and genuinely supportive, is crucial to ongoing success". "However, no doubt the team will also grow with the expansion".
